This guide is written to give you a little education on biracial hair care and to answer some of the questions we get most often. These tips on Biracial hair care should be helpful in developing a regimen to give you healthy hair. After a short introduction, we will move into a question and answer format.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you exactly what's best for you or for your child. I purposely avoided a cookbook approach in the original guide because proper maintenance of hair is more of an art than a science. Every person's hair is slightly different and therefore requires a slightly different maintenance routine. Even my two daughters, with the same father and mother, have different hair types. I find that an oil that is great for one is too heavy for the other. After years of trial and error that I have developed regimens that work best for each of the three of us. Many people feel that interracial marriage is very difficult to sustain and therefore more liable to end in divorce than a same race marriage. However, do you think this is correct? If you look at the statistics, you will actually see a larger number of divorces in favor of same race marriages. Adults are full of pre-conceived notions about the world. Since we have more experience and thus more opportunities to make judgments, we are quicker to judge and to jump to conclusions than are children. While having this life experience is valuable, children have a definite advantage in that their minds and hearts are naturally more open.

There's no question that today's world is more diverse than in the past. We are exposed to cultures, religions, ideas and philosophies that we may not have been even 20 years ago. This change can have a tremendous positive impact, but can also create tension.
